Some jobs still belong on the desktop: working with local files, talking to printers and scanners, or running all day without a browser tab. We build desktop apps for Windows, Mac and Linux from one Electron and Svelte codebase, with proper installers and automatic updates so every user stays on the latest version.

Why Choose Us

We build and ship our own desktop software, including AIFileNamer and the Cloud Print PRO desktop client, so we know the parts that usually go wrong: code signing, Mac notarisation, update channels and printer access. As a web and API agency, we also make sure your desktop app talks properly to your website, portal or backend.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why build a desktop app rather than a web app?

A web app is usually the better place to start. Desktop makes sense when you need local files, printers, scanners or other hardware, long-running background jobs, or a tool that keeps working without an internet connection. We'll tell you honestly which fits.

Can one app run on Windows, Mac and Linux?

Yes. Electron lets us ship one codebase to all three. We still test on each platform, because file paths, menus and installers behave a little differently on each.

How do automatic updates work?

We publish signed releases to an update server. The app checks for new versions and installs them in the background, so users stay current without reinstalling. On Mac, updates only work when the app is signed and notarised, so we set that up from day one.

Do I need code signing certificates?

For Mac, yes. Apps shared outside the Mac App Store must be signed and notarised through an Apple Developer Program membership. For Windows, signing is strongly recommended so users don't see an unknown publisher warning. We'll help you get both set up in your company's name.

Can the desktop app work with our website or existing system?

Yes, and that's often the point. We connect desktop apps to your API, online store or portal, so orders, files or print jobs move between them. If there's no API yet, we can build one as part of the project.

Why Electron rather than fully native code?

For most business tools, Electron gives you one codebase, a modern interface and faster delivery. If you need very low memory use or deep operating system integration, we'll talk through native options before we start.

Who looks after the app after launch?

Support after launch lasts 1 to 3 months depending on the package. After that, we can look after updates and fixes on an ongoing basis, and our care plans start at £49 a month.
